The Celebration Symbol — XXVI Nationwide Latvian Song and XVI Dance Celebration

The Celebration Symbol

Although each of us has our own experience of the Song and Dance Celebration, we are united in common sentiment—a feeling that does not depend on folk costumes or on singing and dancing skills, but one that is born of the love we have for the Song and Dance Celebration.

The symbol of the XXVI Latvian Song and XVI Dance Celebration is based on the full name of the event woven through the Centenary logo; this symbolises that the Song Celebration is a part of the Centenary Celebrations.

The central value of the visual identity of the XXVI Latvian Song and XVI Dance Celebration is the individual—not only the participants, but everyone who is in some way involved in the festivities—bus drivers and traffic cops, seamstresses and ticket sellers, parents and friends.

The artistic conception for the visual identity of the Song and Dance Celebration is portrait photography—an authentic moment caught during the course of daily activites. To keep focus on the essentials, no new symbols or graphic elements have been designed, instead the traditional titles and headings are infused with feeling through portraits that capture emotions and experiences.
